Rohde & Schwarz has released its new entry-level spectrum analyzer R&S FPC1000. This instrument supports software-activated options, delivers excellent entry-level RF performance, and features a large high-resolution display. Users can remotely control the instrument via WiFi using mobile devices.
March 14, 2017 – The Rohde & Schwarz FPC1000 series spectrum analyzer offers unexpected quality at a reasonable price. With German craftsmanship inheriting the fine quality tradition of Rohde & Schwarz professional spectrum analyzers, this product features solid RF performance enabled through software-activated options. It also has a high-resolution large-screen interface and can connect via WiFi for remote control through mobile applications (apps) and PC software. It is an ideal choice for fundamental R&D, production, maintenance, and educational applications.
Convenient Upgrades
The FPC1000 spectrum analyzer’s base model covers 9 kHz to 1 GHz. Through software activation, it can be expanded to 2 GHz or 3 GHz. Users can purchase upgrades as needed. After purchase, entering an activation code completes the upgrade without requiring calibration.
Excellent RF Performance
For weak signal measurements, the spectrum analyzer’s noise floor is critical. The FPC1000’s base configuration achieves a typical noise floor of –150 dBm. If the preamplifier option is activated, the noise floor can be further reduced to –165 dBm. Simultaneously, the maximum input power tolerance is +30 dBm (1 watt), approximately 10 times higher than comparable spectrum analyzers.
High Resolution
The FPC1000 provides a resolution bandwidth (RBW) as low as 1 Hz, along with a high-resolution 10.1-inch (26 cm) screen. This enables clear identification and display of signal details.
Convenient Remote Control
The FPC1000 spectrum analyzer has a built-in WiFi module. Users can use the InstrumentView software on PCs and the MobileView application on iOS/Android platforms to wirelessly connect (or via Ethernet) and remotely control the instrument.
